For the ATV enthusiast, there's lots of room to have fun here in Baja. There are miles of off-road tracks, deserted beaches and panoramic views. You know you're just minutes away from starting a great adventure when your tour guide hands you a set of bandanas, goggles and a helmet.
Surfing is a sport that amateurs and pros can enjoy equally and Baja is one of the best places to experience it. There are more than a dozen surf spots on the tip of the Peninsula and half of them are in Cabo. Bring a full wetsuit in Jan., Feb., late May and early June. The rest of the year, board shorts and rash guards are all you'll need.
An endless list of incredible dive sites awaits you just minutes away. San Lucas Bay boasts diving for every skill level and there are several dive operators right on the marina to get you to the underwater action. If diving isn't your thing, there are many excellent snorkeling spots along the Lands End side of the Cabo San Lucas Bay.
Whether it's a day in La Paz, the state's bustling capitol, or a visit to historic Todos Santos or an art gallery tour in old San Jose del Cabo, you can get away - and get back - in the same day. A favorite excursion is the Baja Sur Loop - a trip up the southern peninsula's Sea of Cortez coastline to La Paz and then back down the Pacific side through Todos Santos.
